MUMBAI: A biker was arrested near Matunga Road early on Tuesday for rash, negligent and drunk driving. Sunny Mirpagare (22), who was riding the bike and had two friends on the pillion, entered the wrong lane at high speed and rammed into a taxi. The trio, headed towards Dharavi after partying, escaped with minor injuries.
In the impact, the taxi's bonnet and windscreen broke while the bike's front portion was damaged, said the Shahu Nagar police. "Mirpagare was riding without a valid licence," said DCP (Zone V) Dhananjay Kulkarni. "One of the pillion riders was thrown in the air and landed on the taxi bonnet," the police said.
