CBI arrests accounts officer in bribery case

MUMBAI: Central Bureau of Investigation, ACB, Mumbai registered a case against Laxmikant Dudhe, senior accounts officer, zonal accounts office, CBDT, Mumbai for demanding bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant who was providing car on rental basis to Income Tax Department.

The complainant has alleged that the accused demanded bribe from him for clearing his pending bills, for providing cars on rental basis to the Income Tax Department.

The CBI verified the demand wherein accused agreed to accept Rs.10,000. Thereafter CBI laid a trap and the accused and one private person, who accepted bribe on behalf of Dudhe, were caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant, in the cabin of accused situated in Aaykar Bhawan, New Marine Lines, Mumbai.

Further investigation is in progress.
