MUMBAI: A 36-year-old unemployed man reportedly end his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house on the mezzanine floor lat at Vikhroli (east) on Sunday. The incident was noticed when SachinAikhande's family members visited his house the next day morning to give him breakfast, said the Vikhroli police.
Aikhande has left a suicide note behind in which he said that he was frustrated over his ill-health that caused due to his drinking habits. "In the note Aikhande has not held any one responsible for his act. He suffered from prolonged ill-health and was unemployed," said Vikhroli police senior inspector Mahipat Indalkar.
Aikhande was depressed for being dependant on his brothers and parents that made him to take the extreme step. "He had been an alcoholic and was suffering from various ailments," said Indalkar.
Aikhande was staying alone on the mezzanine floor of Sonawane chawl at Tagore nagar area. The incident came to light when Aikhande's brother went to his residence at 10.30am on Monday to give him breakfast. In the statement, the deceased's brother said, "I found my brother hanging from the ceiling. He was alcoholic which made us to make him stay separately. But we took care of him."
Police have registered a case of accidental death and have ruled out any suspicion.
