Chargesheet filed against Kripa, kin

MUMBAI: The economic offences wing (EOW) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against former state minister Kripashankar Singh and his relatives in a disproportionate assets case. The chargesheet stated that Singh and his kin had submitted a wrong declaration and even forged some stamp papers.

On February 22, 2012, Bombay high court ordered the police to attach several properties belonging to Singh and his kin and investigate allegations of criminal misconduct and disproportionate assets. A city resident had filed a PIL alleging that Singh and his relatives had disproportionate assets worth over Rs 320 crore.

"The special investigation team that probed the case found that the accused had submitted wrong declaration about their properties. We have also found that Singh's assets were more than his income," said an officer.
