The accused, Poya Thembisile, was about to catch a flight for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when officials of the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs department were alerted to the persistent woofing of their sniffer dog, Anju. The drug had been tucked into helmets kept in the woman's check-in baggage. The woman had arrived in Mumbai from Hyderabad.
The seized substance also has a number of legitimate uses due to which the government regulates it supply under the NDPS Act.
