Adulteration of milk found in rented flat at Mira road in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The police raided a residential flat in Mira Road which was being used to adulterate milk.

While the accused Majgiri Kobal has been arrested, a case has also been registered against the flat owner.

According to the Kashimira police, they got a tip-off that milk packets were being tampered with in flat number 4 of Parijat society, Shanti Nagar of Mira Road. The police raided the flat where workers were engaged in tampering the seal of the milk packets. The milk was mixed with water and was repacked before being send to retailers for sale.

The police seized around 103 litres of adulterated milk. The flat was taken on rent. Residents of the building are believed to have alerted the police.

The police are ascertaining whether the staff of the company supplying milk were in the know about the racket.
