Youth day festivities at Ramakrishna Mission

MUMBAI: By a stroke of good fortune, the memory of Swami Vivekananda remains undiminished beyond his 150th birth anniversary, which was observed in 2013. Monday, January 12 marks Swami Vivekananda's Jayanti that is celebrated as National Youth Day.

Like it does every year, Ramakrishna Mission will celebrate the occasion at Vivekananda Hall on its premises in Khar. "The programme will begin at 4pm with an invocation and Vedic chants along with the lighting of the lamp," said mission secretary Swami Sarvalokanandaji Maharaj, who will deliver the welcome address. Eminent speakers, celebrities and social workers will address the youth. The programme will end with a performance by Odissi dance exponent Shubhada Varadkar.
