MUMBAI: A 43-year-old woman hanged herself as she was allegedly upset with her husband for speaking to her estranged parents. Geeta Soni, a resident of Mira Road, had broken ties with her parents 10 years ago. On January 3, she learnt that her husband Arvind was in touch with her parents. The couple had an argument. On January 4, she was found hanging in the bedroom.
Arvind told the police that Geeta had broken ties with her parents in 2005 when they were unable to help her financially, when she wanted to buy a house. He said that Geeta had misunderstood her parents inability to pay as their refusal. He told the police that he had tried to resolve the issue but had not succeeded. The couple have a minor son. A case of accidental death has been registered by the Kashimira police.
The body has been send for autopsy.
