The Nagpada police, which registered an accidental death case, said the deceased was studying in class X of a Mazgaon school. "He had studied in London till class V and then took admission in Mumbai. He wanted to go back to London for studies but his parents refused to send him. His parents said he could go to London once he finished class XII in Mumbai. The boy was upset for the last couple of days. On Tuesday night, his parents had gone to a hospital, where their daughter was admitted for malaria, and the boy was alone at home. When they returned, they found their son hanging.
Police sources said that the family told them that they had stayed in Switzerland and the UK, where the boy's father worked as a banker. They returned and to India five years ago. "The boy wanted to go back to London. But his parents' refusal to send him there upset the boy. He was undergoing counselling for this," the police said. Cops did not find any suicide note. His family told police that the boy was not happy studying in India and that could be the reason behind taking such an extreme step. The police did not suspect any foul play.
