Additional Sessions Judge A S Shende convicted Aftab Khan after nine witnesses, including the five-year-old survivor and her mother, deposed in court.
The crime took place in May 2012. The child was playing near her house when Khan, a shopkeeper, offered her one rupee and coaxed her to enter the shop. In her statement, the minor said, before the court, that Khan then downed the shutter and assaulted her. The child narrated in detail the brutality she was subjected to by Khan.
