BEST will run 240 services for Mount Mary Feast

MUMBAI: The BEST will run 240 bus services to cater to the huge rush during the Mount Mary Feast (popularly known as Bandra Fair), beginning Sunday.

The special buses will be available from the BEST bus station which is situated adjacent to Bandra railway station West from September 14 to 21. It will ferry commuters via Hill Road till Mehboob studio.

An official said, "On the first day, we will ply 25 special buses each in the morning and evening hours. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be eight special buses in the morning and 14 in the evening." Similarly, between September 17 and 19, there will be 12 buses in morning and 13 in the evening.

"On September 20, we will increase the buses to 25 services in the morning and 28 in the evening. And on the final day, we will run 40 services in the morning and 50 buses in the evening to cater to the rush on that day," the official added. The BEST will run a total 110 services in the morning and 130 in the evening.

It will deploy its traffic inspectors for proper crowd management at the bus stops and to ensure there is no untoward incident.
