Thane Anti Corruption Bureau arrests technician for accepting bribe

MUMBAI: The Thane Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested a senior technician with MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) of Murbad division for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 15000 from complainant to reduce his electricity bill.

The ACB officials said that complainant runs a firm in Murbad area and recently MSEDCL sent his excess electricity bill due to which complainant approached to MSEDCL office where he approach to accused Ashok Desale,48, posted at senior technician post. ACB officials alleged that to reduce electricity bill Desale demanded bribe of Rs 15000 due to which complainant approach to ACB official.

Acting on complaint on Monday afternoon team laid trap and arrested Desale while accepting bribe money near Malsej ghat road.
