MUMBAI: The country's largest housing finance company HDFC has reported a net profit of Rs 1,345 crore for the quarter ended June 2014 - an increase of 15% over the previous year after providing a Rs 74.44-crore deferred tax liability on special reserves.
Barring the deferred tax liability provision, the net profit was higher by 21% and largely in line with market expectations.
Vice-chairman and CEO Keki Mistry said that the institution was seeing an improvement in sentiment from borrowers.
