The boy, a student of Fatima Devi English High School, was attacked when he was on his way to the school ground during the recess. He suffered injuries on the right side of his neck.
"Two groups were fighting in the school on Friday when my son intervened and asked them to stop. That is when the boys threatened him to stay out of this. Suddenly on Monday, when the boys were heading to eat their snacks, one of the boys pushed him and attacked him with a blade on his neck," said the injured boy's father.
The boy was rushed to a near-by hospital by the teachers. "A few students brought him to the staff room and he was bleeding so we rushed him to the hospital where his wound was stitched up," said a teacher.
"Had the cut been a little longer, it would have been fatal," said the father. He is now recuperating in the hospital.
The Dinoshi police has detained three students from the school and are in the process of registering a case.
