The suspects allegedly damaged the closed circuit television (CCTV) installed in his house. The incident is believed to have occurred at around 3 am when Pramod Dalvi (40), his wife and two children were asleep in their Manvelpada, Virar (east) bungalow.
The men gained forced entry into the house, threatened and assaulted Dalvi by hitting and punching him. The men managed to damage two of the four CCTV installed in the bungalow.
The two police constables guarding Dalvi's bungalow due to past threats, were away when the incident took place. Dalvi managed to call the police after the men fled from the house.
The suspects even made threatening calls to Dalvi. Dalvi claimed to have invested money in the hotel industry in Dahisar and Borivli. He told the police that business rivalry had led to the attack.
He named a business rival whom he suspects. One person has been picked up for questioning.
