Businessman killed over financial dispute?

MUMBAI: The police suspect that financial dispute could be the reason behind the murder of a 38-year-old businessman in Malad (W) on Monday night.

Shekhar Aduwala, a civil contractor, was returning home with his son on a scooter when three unidentified men shot at him around 11.30 pm.

The police said that his 16-year-old son Neeraj, who was riding the scooter, slowed down before a speedbreaker near Jankalyan Nagar when three men on a bike came close to them and one of them opened fired at Aduwala. The accused then sped away. Neeraj took his father to a hospital where he died during treatment.

The police said that the deceased had a dispute with his former business partner . They are also making inquiries with Aduwala's friends and relatives.
