The three — Mahadik, Adnan Ali (19), Tejas P (19) — left their BKC residence to take a joyride. "Mahadik's condition is stable and he is talking. He told the entire incident. The other two riding pillion are critically injured," said BKC police inspector SS Kakad.
Police said Mahadik lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a divider. The impact of the collision was such that the trio was thrown off the bike and landed on the road. Passersby informed the police control after which the trio was rushed to nearby hospitals at Hiranandani Hospital in Powai, Seven Hills in Andheri and Bombay Hospital.
Siddhesh is treated at Bhabha hospital and his condition is said to be stable. Adnan and Tejas have been admitted at separate private hospitals. Their condition is critical, said officials, adding that the boys' statements are yet to be recorded.
Police said the biker and the pillion riders where not drunk at time of incident. Mahadik has been booked under sections of the IPC for 279 (rash driving), 338 (grievous hurt by an act endangering life and personal safety of others) and under the Motor Vehicle Act section 184 for driving dangerously. Mahadik will be arrested after getting discharged from the hospital.
