Man in BMW arrested for breaking into cars

MUMBAI: A Bandra (W) businessman's son was recently arrested after it was found that he would drive around in a BMW and break into expensive cars to steal electronic gadgets and other valuables, said the police on Tuesday.

The police said the accused was a drug addict. They said the BMW belonged to his father.

They said the accused was 32 years old and had confessed to committing such offences in the past.

On May 1, he drove the BMW to Juhu and parked it near another sedan. The police said he had broken the side window of the other car to steal its music system when passers-by caught him red-handed with the help of a patrolling policemen.

Officers at the Juhu police station said the accused was under the influence of drugs when he was caught and confessed all.

He was then handed over to the Worli police station as he said he had committed similar offences in its jurisdiction.
