MUMBAI: Yogesh Verma, spokesperson of the BJP's city unit, was allegedly assaulted by six persons in a road rage incident on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road on Tuesday.
The Jogeshwari police said the incident took place around 6pm. It is learnt that Verma was going to the BJP's Dadar office in his car when six bike-borne persons intercepted his vehicle. They allegedly dragged Verma out and hit him with iron rods. His three aides who were with him in the car rushed him to the trauma care hospital. A senior police officer said the incident was sparked off by a scuffle between Verma and a brother-sister duo. No FIR had been lodged till the time of going to press. tnn
