Mumbai: The Mumbai University on Friday revised exam dates for four papers and the timing for three papers.Dates for these exams were clashing with either other subject combinations of the same group of students or with repeaters exam from the previous semester.
This is the fourth time the university is making changes to the schedule for TYBA students, leading to confusion. The changes were made after the university had to postpone exams on account of elections and for staff training for poll duty.Students fear the changes will delay results.Exams for May 16 are yet to be rescheduled.
TYBA and MA students under the credit-based grading system (CBGS) will be affected by the latest change (for details of new schedule visit www.mu.ac.in).TOI on Friday had reported how the abnormal psychology paper of semester VI for TYBA students under the CBGS was overlapping with the semester V counselling paper for repeaters on April 22.The varsity on Friday postponed the semester V counselling paper to June 18.A TYBA student who got an ATKT only in one paper said his last exam is on May 2.If results are delayed,it will affect my prospects of higher studies, the student said.Varsity officials are hassled over the changes.
Padma Deshmukh, controller of exams, said,We had to keep a paper on June 18 as TYBA exams are end on June 17.If we schedule it in between, there may be more clashes. If the poll panel had told us about it before,we could have avoided confusion.
