Fire on Mumbai-bound local train; no one injured

MUMBAI: Smoke was detected in the motor coach of a Dombivli-CST slow local at Kopar station around 5.55am on Monday.

No one was injured but CR services were disrupted between Thane and Dombivli on both slow corridors. The rake was evacuated and taken to the Kalwa car shed.

As it was a public holiday, the train was not crowded. "Investigations revealed that the fire occurred because of the presence of a cloth," a CR official said.
