Man held for selling illegal railway tickets

MUMBAI: A 42-year-old man was arrested for unauthorized sale of railway tickets. The arrest was made by a joint team of the IRCTC and the crime wing of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The raid was conducted on Saturday at Ragam electronics in Dharavi. The accused has been identified as Jagan Joseph.

Twenty-eight e-tickets worth Rs 57,887 were seized from the accused. Joseph was detained around 5pm and handed over to the RPF Dadar chowky around 5pm. The accused will be produced before a railway court on Sunday for RPF remand.

TOI had reported in its Sunday edition on another tout being arrested. Shyam G Yadav was held with 37 tickets worth Rs 41,000. He too had been handed over to the Dadar RPF outpost. The RPF has started a sustained campaign to crack down on touts.
