Angry Sena terms Khobragade casteist

MUMBAI: Incensed with former bureaucrat for terming the Marathi media as "casteist", the Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece hit back calling him "mentally bankrupt".

The allegation from the former IAS came after the media in Delhi raised a query about Devyani's flat in the controversial Adarsh housing society despite being ineligible.

The Sena had supported IFS officer Devyani Khobragade after the US controversy.

In an editorial on Monday in the Saamna newspaper, the Sena said "it is his (Uttam Khobragade) mental bankruptcy."

It credited the Marathi media for pursing the issue of Adarsh consistently. The editorial said, "because the Marathi media pursued the issue aggressively chief minister Ashok Chavan had to go home. How can a well-educated person such as Uttam Khobragade not rid his mind of casteism is surprising," it said.
