Second day at IIT-B cultural fest draws in 28,000 students

MUMBAI: Day 2 at Mood Indigo, the annual cultural festival at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) opened to a footfall of 28,000 with an increase in registrations as well. So far, more than 2,800 colleges have registered for the festival.

Participants came in from Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and were seen preparing in the cold morning for the semi-finals of competitions lined up for the day. More than 2,000 people ran a distance of 4 km on the verdant campus alongside celebrity runners Gul Panag and Milind Soman. Chris Turner, a young stand-up comedian from England, entertained an audience of 500 to an hour of comic acts. A mini radio jockey hunt was organized as a surprise event; one student was chosen out of 250 and was taken on air as soon as the contest ended.

Speaker sessions featured former India hockey goalkeeper Mir Ranjan Negi, and Nishant Rao, head, Linkedin India. Workshops on whistling and eating with chopsticks were also held. Indian rock band Euphoria brought the day to a close.
