A sessions court is likely to hear film the acid attack case today. Film professional Jerrit John, accused for attempting murder of his ex girlfriend, had filed a discharge application on the charge in a sessions court. John (35) is currently lodged in Arthur Road jail, after being arrested for allegedly hurling a chemical on his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend, physiotherapist Aryanka Hosbetkar, at her Worli residence in November last year.
The court had earlier rejected John's second bail application. Earlier too he had filed the application but later withdrew it. John had alleged that he and Hosbetkar were in love and in a relationship. He also said that she was aware that he was married and despite that she continued with the relationship.
