Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan organises music fest for platinum jubilee

MUMBAI: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is celebrating its platinum jubilee as well as the 125th birth anniversary of its founder Dr K M Munshi this year.

It will host a four-day music festival of leading artists from north and south India from Oct 24-27 at the Chowpatty centre in Mumbai.

The 75th anniversary 'Sangeetotsav' features vocalists Pt Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Shruti Sadolikar-Katkar and saxophone player Kadri Gopalnath with violinist Kanyakumari.

Classical singer Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, shehnai expert Hassan Haider Khan and singer Ulhas Kashalkar will also participate.

'Taal keertan' by Suresh Talwalkar and vocal recital by former diplomat Chinmaya Gharekhan is also scheduled.

BVB was established in 1938 to serve the cause of education, arts and culture. It has 375 constituent institutions and 122 centres in India and seven abroad.
