MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has revised its mobile tower policy and have decided that only one mobile tower will be allowed atop one building.

The BMC has also said that only one antenna will be allowed on one tower.

The revised policy also says that there will be a citizen representative on the public grievance committee, which will have members from the BMC, TERM cell, state and health officials.

"We have finalized the policy, which will be soon sent to the standing committee for approval,"said a senior civic official.

Another important highlight of the policy is that it will be applied in retrospective effect and will be applicable to all buildings once the period for which their license is over.

70% consent of the residents of the building, mandatory no-objection certificates from all the residents of the top floor will be needed to install a mobile tower.
