J&K pupils’ counselling pushed back

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Thursday deferred the counselling session of Jammu and Kashmir candidates seeking admission to an architecture degree course following allegations that rules were tweaked. Instead of Friday, the counselling will take place on August 5.

A division bench of Justice S JVazifdar and Justice M S Sonak was hearing a petition filed by Ratik Verma challenging the final merit list published by the directorate of technical education, alleging irregularities in the selection method. His advocate Pooja Thorat said, "When the rules stipulated that the admissions will be given on the score obtained in MA-CAT , the DTE cannot admit students under NATA." DTE's advocate admitted there were errors in the regulations.
