MUMBAI: Enraged after the assault on assistant municipal commissioner (AMC) Santoshkumar Dhonde by BJP workers on Tuesday, 10 AMCs met municipal chief Sitaram Kunte on Thursday. They demanded that steps should be taken to give security to the officers.
The delegation also demanded that Kunte give them guidelines on which political events, meetings or site visits they are supposed to attend. The AMCs said in the absence of such guidelines, they will not attend any political meetings outside the BMC buildings. "The commissioner has promised to look into the issues," said an AMC.
