According to the police, the main accused Rahul Bavriya, and his two accomplices, who stay in the same locality, attacked Guddu alias Ashraf Shaikh, for complaining and giving information about their activities to the police.
In the complaint, Shaikh said, "They attacked me with a sickle, knife and beer bottle in between building No. 4 and 5 in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Bavriya was infuriated with me for making complaints against them in the past."
A WTT police officer said that the incident is the result of a fallout due to previous enmity. The accused had fought with Bavriya on Holi. Bavriya's friend Chetan also suffered minor injuries.
Police are investigating if the arrested accused has any criminal links. The police have registered a case under section 307 (attempt to murder).
