MUMBAI: The suburban collector Sanjay Deshmukh paid a visit to Juhu beach and its precincts. The collector was personally invited by Juhu Citizens' Welfare Group (JCWG). Deshmukh was joined by resident district collector Dr Shivajirao Patil and tehsildar Rupali Bhalke along with other senior staffers from the collectorate.
The collector was impressed by the work done by residents. He was happy to see the plans afoot to improve the gardens on Juhu beach with lighting drinking water fountain, landscaping and other facilities.
Deshmukh spent two hours with members of JCWG to discuss their plans and problems and assure them of all the help and support.
As a part of Women's Day Celebrations, JCWG chose creative arts to express the sentiment in the wake of the Delhi rape case incident. Chudiyon Ke Khoon Se bola mera Mann was the theme of the event. It brought together distinguished women poets on a single platform. Singer Indira Naik participated in the event. There was a dance performance by Tanjavur School of Dance.
