MUMBAI: Several hospitals in the city have organised health camps for women on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8. The idea off course is to increase awareness about women health issues that usually remain the last in the list of priorities in a family. Here again we see that the eye care is ignored. On the occasion of International Women's Day Sightsavers is conducting a four day screening camp for the Anganwadi workers in Mumbai with its partner KBH Bachooali Charitable Ophthalmic and ENT Hospital (KBHB). This will happen on the 18th, 21st, 25th and 28th March 2013. This camp will cover slum areas of Mumbai like Wadala, Sevri, Bhandup, Dharavi & Mankhurd.

This camp will screen 1500 Anganwadi workers and also cover services like free eye checkup, provide spectacles and also provide them the hospital related eye care services which includes diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma etc. This camp will help Sightsavers to reach more masses. Anganwadi workers will help us spread awareness about disability sector. Anganwadi being the centre point for networking on health issues this will open us a path to reach masses door to door.
