MUMBAI: A 27-year-old housewife committed suicide at her residence in Santa Cruz East on Sunday. SeemaSakpal, the deceased, is survived by her husband and four-year-old daughter. The motive is still unclear.
Sakpal resided at IndiraNagar in Gavdevi near Vakola pipeline. Around 4 am, she woke up to fill water from the common tap in the chawl. She then returned home with the water. When her husband, Ravindra, woke up to go to the toilet later, he found her hanging from the ceiling fan.
He alerted his mother and brother, who stayed with him, and rushed Seema to the hospital where she was declared dead. Police officials said no suicide note was found. A case of accidental death has been registered.
Ravindra was employed as a housekeeper, officials said.
