CBI arrests senior accounts officer for accepting bribe

MUMBAI: Central Bureau of Investigation, Mumbai registered a case against Laxmikant Dudhe, senior accounts officer, Zonal Accounts Office, for demanding bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant who was providing car on rental basis to income tax department.

The complainant has alleged that Dudhe demanded bribe from him for clearing his pending bills for the providing cars on rental basis to the income tax department.

The CBI verified the demand and laid a trap and the accused and one private person who accepted bribe on behalf of the accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in the cabin of accused situated in Aaykar Bhawan, New Marine Lines, Mumbai.

Both the accused have been arrested and will be produced before the special judge, Mumbai on 01.03.2013.

Further investigation is in progress.
