MUMBAI: The Shri Vile ParleKelavaniMandal (SVKM), which runs 33 educational institutions in Vile Parle suburb, including NM College, Mithibai College, NMIMS and others, has organised the 'SVKM Model United Nations 2013' (SVKMMUN). This nationwide conference is being conducted from February 7-10 across what is described as state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities'' offered by all SVKM educational institutions in Vile Parle.
The event is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. The organisers say SVKM MUN will give students a platform to step into the shoes of ambassadors from member nations of the United Nations. They will then debate current issues and problems that affect countries all over the world.
SVKM MUN will also include a starry social event, a charity night called 'Social Night' in aid of the Nargis Dutt Memorial Charitable Trust (NDMCT). Nikhil Chinappa will perform at this programme. The money collected through the sale of passes will be donated to the NDMCT for their charitable causes. MP Priya Dutt will attend the function.
