MUMBAI: The Indian Navy (IN) under the aegis of the Director General Naval Projects, Mumbai is organising a one day seminar-cum-exhibition on "Emerging Trends in Development of Marine Infrastructure" at the INHS Asvini auditorium near RC Church, Colaba on February 28.
The one day seminar will flag off at 9am. The chief guest for the function will be Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, Mumbai. The keynote address will be delivered by Vice Admiral NN Kumar, Chief of Materiel, Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi.
Defence (Chief) PRO N Vispute said that the seminar will focus on issues related to modern design processes for marine structures, modern materials and maintenance aspects. The seminar is being conducted when the Navy as well as the defence shipyards is in the process of modernising their marine infrastructure with substantial investments.
He said that the seminar and exhibition will be attended by personnel from the Indian Navy, Army, Coast Guard, Public and Private sector shipyards, Port Trusts, Government Departments, Academia and also personnel from the Industries engaged in developing and maintaining marine infrastructure.
