BMC to buy soap from Karnataka

MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be buying soap bars from a Karnataka government company for its use.

The BMC will be purchasing mysore sandal soap bars worth Rs 2crore for the use in all their offices, hospitals for the entire year. Each bar will be costing them Rs 15.

The BMC will be procuring the soaps and will distribute it to the head of departments; they will then disburse it to their staff for use.

The BMC has been purchasing these soaps from Karnataka for the last two years.

Rahul Shewale standing committee chairman said that the BMC will be soon procuring the soap bars because the stock of the soaps in most of its departments is over and they are using soaps by taking from departments that have some bars to spare

The proposal to buy these soaps was passed in the civic standing committee on Monday
