MUMBAI: A 45- year old woman who used to run a prostitution racket by involving minor and young girls was arrested by the Gamdevi police on Saturday.
While police have arrested the brothel keeper Fatima Iqbal Hussain, the four girls have been send to Nagpada police hospital for medical and age test, three women have been send to the controversial Mankhurd rescue home. Two of the girls have even not completed their 13s'' said an police officer. Police have booked Fatima under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Fatima is a resident of Sahara building at Shadimall Road in Mumbra in Thane.
Acting on the specific information of Rocky Kotian of NGO Justice and Care the Gamdevi police laid a trap by sending a bogus customer and rescued seven girls including four minor girls outside Grant road station. Police had information that the brothel keeper charged heavy money from the customers while she gave mere amount to this girls.
During their interrogations they revealed the name of the brothel keeper Fatima Iqbal Hussain. Police said that they wants to interrogate Fatima to know whether this minor girls were forced into prostitution. We also wants to interrogate Fatima to find out whether the girls were kidnapped or sold by their parents.''
