MUMBAI: Two persons were injured in separate accidents in Goregaon and Jogeshwari.
In the first case, a speeding biker rammed into an autorickshaw, injuring the driver, on the Western Express Highway at Goregaon East. The accident took place at 9.15 pm on Tuesday opposite the Mahananda dairy. Auto driver Gufran Shaikh, 41, sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Shaikh is a resident of Andheri East. "We have arrested the biker, Yogesh Lattham, 21, on charges of rash driving. A Jogeshwari resident, Lattham is appearing for his HSC privately this year," said S Ranshevre, senior inspector, Vanrai police station.
In a separate case, a 19-year-old student was injured after a two-wheeler crashed into him at Jogeshwari East on Monday evening. The accused fled from the spot instead of taking the student, Siddhesh Khedekar, to a doctor. The Jogeshwari police have registered a case of rash driving against an unknown person and are looking for the culprit. Khedekar is currently recuperating in a hospital.
