MUMBAI: A total of 669 Nirankari volunteers donated blood at four camps organized in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai on Sunday, October 21. With this drive, the Sant Nirankari Mandal has achivied a tally of 5148 blood units in 24 camps since April this year in Mumbai metropolitan region. In Maharashtra (other than the Mumbai) over 100 camps were organized with a collection of more than 10,000 units.
In Navi Mumbai the camp was organized at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sathe Nagar, Airoli where 75 Nirankaris donated blood. The J.J.Mahanagar Blood Bank collected the blood. This camp was inaugurated by Shri Purushottam Karad, Sr.Police Inspector of Rabale Police Station. Shri Nasir Pathan, Rev. Manohar Sawant, were also present.
In other three camps in Mumbai, one was organized at Sewree in Koli Samaj Hall wherein 232 Nirankaris donated blood. The blood was collected by JJ Metro Blood Bank and the camp was organized by Shri Gorakhnath, Ex-Vice President of the Koli Samaj organization. The second camp was organized at Sheetal Plaza, Kurla (West) wherein 200 Nirankari devotees donated blood. The blood was collected by Lokmanya Tilak Hospital, Sion and it was inaugurated by Rev. Virendra Bamne, Convener of the Mumbai Zonal Committee of the Mandal. The third camp was organized at Ganesh Nagar, Kandivali, wherein 162 units of blood were collected and the collection was made by Cooper Hospital (105) and Bhabha Hospital (57).
